About
Partho Protim Saha
Artist & Cultural Researcher
Partho Protim Saha is a Multidisciplinary Artist, Designer, Curator, and Craft Researcher with over 25 years of work in Bangladesh’s art and cultural landscape. His journey has always been shaped by curiosity, struggle, and a deep respect for materials that come from the soil, water, and people of the Sundarbans region.
From sculpture and eco-friendly installations to theatre, film design, and graphic communication, Partho’s practice grows from a simple belief: art should stay close to life, community, and nature. His work often begins in villages, workshops, riverbanks, or conversations with artisans – where traditional knowledge quietly meets contemporary imagination.
Throughout his career, he has worked with cultural organizations, NGOs, and universities across the country. These collaborations were not always easy; limited resources, fragile craft traditions, and environmental challenges have often pushed him to rethink methods and invent new materials. But these very challenges have shaped his philosophy – that creativity is not just expression, but also responsibility.
Through his studio Karikori Karkhana, Partho continues to explore how art can serve as a bridge between ecology, heritage, and modern design. His practice stands on the belief that sustainable aesthetics can grow only when artists listen to people, place, and the changing landscape around them.
Partho’s journey is ongoing – built on learning, unlearning, and finding beauty in resilience.
